Privacy policy — effective 2026-08-09
The short version
Friendminder has no accounts and no server of its own. Your circle, the rhythms you set, the birthdays and notes you keep — all of it is written to your iPhone and stays there. There is nothing to sign up for, and there is no copy of your people anywhere else.
What Friendminder stores, and where
The people you add, which tier they're in, each person's rhythm, birthdays, notes, your First Bloom progress and your settings are saved in Friendminder's own storage on the device. Remove a person from the Circle tab; deleting the app removes all of it.
What leaves the device
In this version, nothing. Friendminder ships with no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no tracking SDK, and it has no code of its own that sends your circle, notes, birthdays or rhythms anywhere.
Friendminder was built with a future sync feature in mind, but it is switched off in this release: it is not offered anywhere in the app, and no connection is opened. If it ever ships, it will be opt-in and free, and this page is updated first.
Contacts
Friendminder asks for Contacts access for one reason: so you can pick your people from your own address book inside the app. Limited Access is fully supported — share only the contacts you choose. If you decline, you can add anyone by typing a name instead. Your contacts are never uploaded anywhere; there is no server to upload them to.
Notifications
The daily pulse is a local notification, scheduled by the app on your iPhone itself. No push server is involved, and nothing about who is due ever leaves the device.
What Friendminder never does
No ads. No selling or sharing your data. No tracking across apps or websites. No location, no microphone, no photos beyond what you attach yourself. Friendminder never contacts the people in your circle and never tells them they're in it — if you ever invite a friend, that's a message you send, from you.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of the page changes with it, and any change that affects what leaves your device is published here before the release that makes it.
